Former Kano Pillars midfielder Abdul Haruna died on Sunday, December 6 after he slumped during a football match.
Haruna

and a selected amateur side in a friendly when he died.
It was said that
Haruna fell down unchallenged and was immediately rushed to the nearby
hospital before he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“Abdul Haruna
died Sunday while playing in a friendly match between Kano Professionals
and a selected amateur team in Kano. He was moving the ball when he
slump and die on the pitch,” Kano Pillars media manager Idris Malikwa said.
“This is a huge shock to the entire football family in Kano, we never expected this.
He said
Haruna fell down unchallenged and was immediately rushed to the nearby
hospital before he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
Haruna who also once played for Heartland is survived by a wife, Surayya, whom he married in 2012 and a baby son.
He has been buried this morning, Monday, December 7.
