South Sudanese government on Wednesday refuted reports across the country and East Africa that President Salva Kiir died on Tuesday.

Panic erupted in Juba after the rumour emerged that the head of state had passed on, causing confusion in the city on Tuesday.
Government Spokesman, Michael Makuei, told newsmen that the reports of the president’s death were generated by anti-peace elements who wanted to cause havoc in the country.
“This is a mere lie, there is nothing as such; Salva Kiir has never been sick, he was in the office and left his office at 4.30 p.m. (local time), and at present, he is at his house.
“These are some of the problems by people who do not want peace and if you spread such wild lies they become a source of insecurity,’’ Makuei added.
He said that government would take tough actions on the manufacturers of the rumours, further threatening to cut off social media sites in the country.
“If this situation continues, do not be surprised if we disconnect you from the rest of the world because what we need is peace.
“But once people begin to spread wild rumours, this will not be allowed to continue; some of these social media sites will not be allowed to work if people continue to work like that,’’ he said.
South Sudan has seen a rise in ethnically based killings and online hate speech following the flare-up of violence in July.
The government spokesperson appealed to South Sudanese communities to refrain from acts of revenge attacks and embrace peace.

Recognising reasons behind cheating

It is very hard to justify cheating on any ground. However recognising reasons why people do it could at least help understand them.
Infidelity  Infidelity
(African-sweethearts)

Hearing of cheats and unfaithful lovers is now so common that some people do not even turn up their noses in disgust anymore.

We all must have heard one or two people dismissing cheating with a wave of the hand, saying stuff like ‘cheating is a normal thing’ or ‘all men/women cheat.’
Such statements are based on the regularity with which they have encountered, experienced and heard of cases of infidelity.
No matter how rampant cheating and unfaithfulness has become, though, it remains totally wrong.
Even if it seems to be a behavioural pattern that has seeped deep into the [im]moral fabric of the society, it is still supposed to be spat upon.
Yeah. Cheating is actually that bad.
A lot of bad words could be used in describing people that cheat and no matter how nasty or extreme your choice of derogatory word is, you are free to pop them as far as I am concerened.
However, let’s for one second cut them some slack in a bid to understand why they Some people just have commitment issues (PsychicLily)
Why do people cheat? Does it appeal to them to just intentionally mess up the emotions and lives of others, or do some uncontrollable factors play a part too?
Below are few reasons which generally influence people to cheat.

Commitment issues

Some people just never seem to get the concept of exclusiveness of relationships.

Curiosity

For the wild at heart, there’s always a willingness to explore and see what else they might be missing by being stuck to just one partner.

Need for attention

Sometimes, people are moved into infidelity by a lack of attention on their partner’s part.

Disappointment

The expectation in their mind before entering the relationship was not met, leading to a search for that thing at some other location.

Sexual dissatisfaction

In this context, we are talking about situations where a healthy appetite for sex is not ever satisfied.
This is one of the biggest reasons why people shirk their duty to be faithful and go after other people.

Sex addiction

Cheating for some people is as a result of their limitless desire for sexual activity and gratification which, most times, their partners can’t keep up with.

Some other persons cheat in a bid to get back at their disloyal, unfaithful partners.
In an instance such as this, the line between what is right and what is not becomes blurred.
However, two wrongs don’t ever make a right and cheating remains cheating no matter how ‘valid’ or ‘justifiable’ your reason is.
Apart from the above reasons listed, people also cheat because there is a lack of appreciation, lack of intimacy, and insecurity.
In conclusion, the reasons listed, as already pointed out, are not to justify the act of cheating itself, but to help partners realise what the reason behind cheating is.
This, we hope, will assist you take a closer look at your relationship, and look for ways to ensure that you or your partner never fall into these things that might tempt you to cheat and ruin the beautiful relationship you’ve got going

Rapper's 6th studio album will be a 'Hip-hop' project

Just like his past three albums, rap has never been absent from Olamide’s career, and his next album will still be a glowing addition to Hip-hop.
Olamide Olamide
Olamide’s sixth studio album will be released in December, and it will definitely have rap in it.
The Nigerian rapper who has released a studio album every year since his debut in 2011, is working on maintaining his figures and keeping his momentum going, by dropping a studio album in 2016.
The new album will be released in December, as songs on the album have already been recorded. It will feature hit song ‘Who you epp’, along with other singles. No official title, artwork, and tracklist has been released.

This will be Olamide’s 7 album. In 2011, he launched his career with “Rapsodi”, and went further to release a string of albums every year including “YBNL” (2012), “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” (2013), “Street OT” (2014), “2 Kings” (joint album with Phyno, 2015), and “Eyan Mayweather” (2015).
2016 has been a big year for the rapper. Under his leadership and guidance, his record label, YBNL, has released an album (“YAGI”)  for rapper Lil Kesh, who have subsequently left the company, to found his personal imprint. It is currently still promoting Adekunle Gold’s “Gold” album. He has also began work on another of his signed rappers, Chinko Ekun, who is releasing singles.
After the release of “Eyan Mayweather”, Olamide has released 8 personal singles. See them below
Nobody knows how many of his singles since his last album will make the next full-length project. And although the rapper has kept up his work in the pop genre, he has always been sure to mix that with some Hip-hop tracks. This genre diversity has retained his credibility as a rapper, while also chasing the big bucks that comes from the pop sound.
Singles ‘Who you epp’, ‘Lies People Tell’, ‘Owo Blow’, and ‘Sere’ have all been rap singles which sits squarely at the center of the Hip-hop conversation. If ever there was an award for the most eye-catching and viral Hip-hop record for 2016, ‘Who you epp’ will be a shoo-in for the trophy. Olamide understands his roots in indigenous rap music, and how he earned his credentials by spitting for the streets. He embraces his past, and looks to the future with more of it.

Pop music has been a menace to the Hip-hop genre, with the two types of music having found a way to move in together and cohabit a single space. Just as the marriage between R&B and Hip-hop in the US, our pop sounds have formed a natural alliance with rap music, and together they have grown. Olamide’s ‘Sere’ strides this fine line, and embodies what has been happening on the music scene for almost a decade. He is on the record with Lil Kesh, and together, they create music with elements of both worlds on display.
Just like his past three albums, rap has never been absent from Olamide’s career, and his next album will still be a glowing addition to Hip-hop. The man can adapt and become Nigeria’s A-list pop star, but he finds new ways to still be a rap star too. December will be a good month for the glory of Nigerian rap music.

Wizkid-Drake collaboration coming soon.Read more:

Who would have thought? Or found a place in their wildest imagination where Drake and Wizkid collaborate three times within the space of a year?
  • Published: , Refreshed:
There appears to be a new Wizkid-Drake collaboration coming up, and this time it will be a Wizkid project.
While everyone was busy lamenting the  singer’s loss of his brand name ‘Starboy’ to The Weeknd, Wizkid has been gearing up for new music to be released, and this time, it features Drake.
Who would have thought? Or found a place in their wildest imagination where Drake and Wizkid collaborate three times within the space of a year? Not me, not you, not anyone!

Wiz and Drizzy first found middle ground to collaborate on ‘Ojuelegba’,a song off Wizkid’s sophomore studio album “Ayo (Joy)”. Drake had heard the song from UK Grime artiste Skepta, and jumped on it with a verse, which birthed an international remix. The pair worked again for what has been the biggest pop single of 2016,‘One Dance’,a song which stayed 9 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Now it appears things are going to go full circle with a new collaboration coming in hot from Wizkid’s end of the divide.
Turns out while Wizkid and Drake worked on his 2016 “Views” album, the pair also recorded more music for each other’s projects, and Wizkid is gearing forward to end the year with one of those projects. If this finally sees the light of day, it makes Wizkid the first Nigerian artiste to have collaborated with the hottest US act thrice in one year (for all it is worth.)

But seriously, the possibilities are endless.Wizkid just recently signed up to Sony Music Entertainment on a very lucrative record deal, which is yet to be announced. If this single is to be released, it will have to be officially released through Sony Music, and distributed in the US via RCA Records, the same company that handles the portfolio of Davido and Ayo Jay.
2016 for Wizkid has been one of international penetration, and although Drake has been at the centre of it, he has released collaborations with Tinie Tempah, Justin Skye, French Montana, Chris Brown, and Trey Songz. His sophomore studio album has been recorded, with reports revealing that a 2016 release is on the cards for the album.

But a new deal with Sony Music will have to delay that, to enable the record label vet the songs off the project, and properly plan, strategize and devise the best possible means and channels to market, promote and generate value from the album. Wizkid is Africa’s biggest artiste, and there is a huge opportunity for all parties involved.
A new song with Drake sets everyone on the right path, and keeps Wizkid’s hopes of finally crossing over well and aliv

‘One Justice said he didn’t know how N18M entered his account,’ DSS says

The Department of State Services (DSS) has found a Rolls Royce in a fleet of 15 cars belonging to a recently arrested judge.

Another judge is said to have denied ownership of N18 million which was paid into his account.
The DSS arrested seven judges between Friday, October 7, and Saturday, October 8, on allegations of corruption.
“Operatives have discovered that one of the judges owns a mansion which was contracted to a construction firm at a huge cost. In fact, the judge imported furniture from Brazil, Argentina and Spain,” a source told The Nation.
“At a stage, he conducted his ‘poor colleagues’ round the mansion in an open display of affluence. The judge has about 15 cars, including a Rolls Royce. This Rolls Royce was imported.
“During interrogation, another judge told DSS team that he did not know how and when N18million was lodged in his account because he was not getting alert from his bank. But we have evidence of withdrawals from the account.
“We have retrieved the assets declaration forms of these judges. It was shocking that one of them has three asset declaration forms with different dates of birth,” he added.
The DSS had earlier recovered $800,000 from three of the judges during the operation.
The judges involved are: Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro – the suspended Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, Justice Mohammed Ladan Tsamiya, who was picked up in Sokoto; Justice Adeniyi Ademola (Federal High Court); the Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice I. A. Umezulike; Justice Kabiru Auta of Kano State High Court; and Justice Muazu Pindiga (Gombe State High Court).
