21 cows killed by thunder in Nasarawa

The cows were killed by thunder during a heavy rain downpour at a location in Nasarawa State.

Twenty-one cows have been reportedly killed by thunder on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Ashige, located in Lafia East Development Area of Nasarawa State.

This was confirmed by Jaafaru Usman, the Zonal Secretary, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Nasarawa South in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to Usman, the incident occurred on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 during a heavy rainfall that poured in the morning.
The cows affected belonged to a Fulani herder, Malam Bature Lere.
The secretary forwarded an appeal to the state government and other well-meaning groups to assist in helping the man with his painful loss.
“I am appealing to Gov. Umaru Al-Makura to assist this man who lost all his cows to the disaster," he said.
