Court arraigns 18-yr-old student who stole N200 using charms

a 15-year-old boy who fell victim to his charm reported the accused to the Ogudu Police Station, which led to his arrest.

The Ogudu Magistrates’ Court , Lagos has arraigned a, 18-year-old student, Sadiq Adegbite who used charms to steal N200.

Adegbite, who studies at Junior High School, Ogudu is facing three counts charges of conspiracy, stealing and disorderly conduct.
Sergeant Lucky Ihiehie, a prosecutor assigned to the case stated that a 15-year-old complainant reported the matter to the Ogudu Police Station.
According to the complainant, the accused committed the offence in the company of others who are still at large.
He said, “They were harassing him and searching his pockets for money and they even beat him up."
“They dispossessed him of his N200 transport fare which was the only money he had in his pocket."
“A senior student came to the complainant’s rescue and the accused brought out some charms from his pocket to scare them before the police came."
Daily Post reported the offence contravened Sections 166 (d), 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Magistrate O. Sule-Amzat offered the suspect bail in the sum of N10,000 with two sureties included.
She also adjourned the matter till November 1, 2016
