Members of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club will not be cheering the Super Eagles during their Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier game against Zambia on Sunday, October 9, 2016.

According to The Guardian, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) dropped the supporters because of their inability to settle their internal disagreements.
The Nigerian Football Supporters Club currently has two factions led by Rafiu Ladipo and Vincent Okumagbo.
According to reports, both factions presented separate lists of members who will travel to Zambia to cheer the players.
Addressing the issue, the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick in a statement , said “We don’t need such distractions. If the supporters cannot put their house in order, there is no other option than to drop them from our trip.
“Right now, all we need is a united front to beat Zambia in our opening group game because that is the only way we can begin to think of winning our group.”
Another NFF source said the football body had to drop the supporters because efforts to unify them failed.
The source also said “This issue cropped up during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the then NFF leadership could not resolve it because the factions refused to shift grounds.
“The main issue is that some people feel that Ladipo has no right to continue claiming the leadership of the group because they have elected leaders. But because of what Ladipo feels he has done for the club, the man does not want to go.
”It is unfortunate that we are going to Zambia without supporters club because they help in pushing our boys to success even in the face of adversity.”
The Super Eagles will be filing out against the Chipolopolo of Zambia at Ndola Stadium by 1:30pm
