As part of activities for the week long event, the radio station celebrated with artistes and fans with an in-studio concert.

Banky W, Reekado Banks, Lynxx, Vector and Sound Sultan, were some of the A-list celebrities who joined City 105.1 FM's annual celebration of Nigeria’s independence tagged “Salute To The Flag'', which ran from Wednesday, September 27 till October 1, 2016.

As part of activities for the week long event, the radio station celebrated with artistes and fans with an in-studio concert on Thursday 29th September, and an outdoor concert at the Ikeja city mall with all the big names in the music industry in attendance.

Pop stars like Nedu Brazil, Skiibi, Niniola, Aramide, Sammy Davids,Terry Apala, Koker, Pepenazi, Humblesmith, IllBliss, POE, and Miss Kiss, were also on ground at the finale to thrill fans with pulsating performances.

Other activities from the event also included a CSR initiative, which had City FM Head of programmes Benny Ark, and OAPs, Sensei Uche, Kemi Smallz, Wilfred Mong, Sola,  and other staff members paint the administrative block of Agidingbi Grammar school; a project that was supported by partners, Illumine Paints.
